Community Trust
The Sea Palling with Waxham Trust is a small Charity established in 1911 and originally known as the Sea Palling Poor's Land/Allotment. It is now known as the Sea Palling with Waxham Community Trust. Details may be found on the Charity Commission Website.
The objects of the charity are:
The relief of persons resident in the area of benefit who are in need, hardship or distress.
a) The trustees may relieve persons in need by
i) making grants of money to them; or
ii) providing or paying for goods, services or facilities for them; or
iii) making grants of money to other persons or bodies who provide goods, services or facilities to those in need.
b) In exceptional cases the trustees may decide to assist someone (who is otherwise qualified) who is
i) resident outside the area of benefit; or
ii) only temporarily resident in the area of benefit.
The general benefit of the inhabitants of the area of benefit in such charitable ways as the trustees think fit. The Charity owns approx 12 acres of land either side of Clink Rd. Parts of the land are leased earning revenue for the Trust which supports the objects of the Charity after reasonable expenses in the running of the Trust. There is also an adequate Playing Field for the youngsters of the village. This is supported by the Trust and the Parish Council. The Trust also supports the Sea Palling & Waxham Allotment Association who has 19 plot holders contributing a nominal rent. There are 4 children’s plots on the Allotment site rent free. Any resident, no matter how young or old may apply for a grant. Application forms are available from the secretary, or you may write to the secretary or in the first instance telephone/ speak to any trustee. However written application will need to be made.
